Namo tassa bhagavato arahato sammā sambuddhassa
22. 2. 1.
(11) Māro –– Death
1. I heard thus. At one time the Blessed One was living in the monastery offered by Anāthapiṇḍika in Jeta’s grove in Sāvatthi.
2. Then venerable Rādha approached the Blessed One, worshipped, and sat on a side.
3. Sitting, venerable Rādha said to the Blessed One: “Venerable sir, it is said, ‘Death.’ What is death?”
4. “Rādha, matter is death. Feelings, perceptions, intentions, and consciousness are death.
5. “Rādha, the learned noble disciple, realizing this, turns from matter. Turns from feelings, perceptions, intentions, and consciousness. Turning, looses interest and is released. Released, he knows, ‘I am released, birth is destroyed, the holy life is lived to the end, duties are done and I have nothing more to wish’.”

(12) Maraṇadhammo –– The Nature of Death
1. I heard thus. At one time the Blessed One was living in the monastery offered by Anāthapiṇḍika in Jeta’s grove in Sāvatthi.
2. Then venerable Rādha approached the Blessed One, worshipped, and sat on a side.
3. Sitting, venerable Rādha said to the Blessed One: “Venerable sir, it is said, ‘The nature of death.’ What is the nature of death?”
4. “Rādha, matter is of the nature of death. Feelings, perceptions, intentions, and consciousness are of the nature of death.
5. “Rādha, the learned noble disciple, realizing this, turns from matter, feelings, perceptions, intentions, and consciousness. Turning, looses interest and is released. Released, he knows, ‘I am released, birth is destroyed, the holy life is lived to the end, duties are done and I have nothing more to wish’.”

(13) Anicca I –– Impermanence I
1. I heard thus. At one time the Blessed One was living in the monastery offered by Anāthapiṇḍika in Jeta’s grove in Sāvatthi.
2. Then venerable Rādha approached the Blessed One, worshipped, and sat on a side.
3. Sitting, venerable Rādha said to the Blessed One: “Venerable sir, it is said, ‘Impermanent.’ What is impermanent?”
4. “Rādha, matter is impermanent. Feelings, perceptions, intentions, and consciousness are impermanent.
5. “Rādha, the learned noble disciple, realizing this, turns from matter, feelings, perceptions, intentions, and consciousness. Turning, looses interest and is released. Released, he knows, ‘I am released, birth is destroyed, the holy life is lived to the end, duties are done and I have nothing more to wish’.”

(14) Anicca II –– Impermanent II

2. Then venerable Rādha approached the Blessed One, worshipped, and sat on a side.
3. Sitting, venerable Rādha said to the Blessed One: “Venerable sir, it is said, ‘The nature of impermanence.’ What is the nature of impermanence?”
4. “Rādha, matter is of the nature of impermanence. Feelings, perceptions, intentions, and consciousness are of the nature of impermanence.
5. “Rādha, the learned noble disciple, realizing this, turns from matter, feelings, perceptions, intentions, and consciousness. Turning, looses interest and is released. Released, he knows, ‘I am released, birth is destroyed, the holy life is lived to the end, duties are done and I have nothing more to wish’.”

(15) Dukkha I –– Unpleasantness I
1. I heard thus. At one time the Blessed One was living in the monastery offered by Anāthapiṇḍika in Jeta’s grove in Sāvatthi.
2. Then venerable Rādha approached the Blessed One, worshipped, and sat on a side.
3. Sitting, venerable Rādha said to the Blessed One: “Venerable sir, it is said, ‘Unpleasant.’ What is unpleasant?”
4. “Rādha, matter is unpleasant. Feelings, perceptions, intentions, and consciousness are unpleasant.
5. “Rādha, the learned noble disciple, realizing this, turns from matter, feelings, perceptions, intentions, and consciousness. Turning, looses interest and is released. Released, he knows, ‘I am released, birth is destroyed, the holy life is lived to the end, duties are done and I have nothing more to wish’.”

(16) Dukkha II –– Unpleasantness II

3. Sitting, venerable Rādha said to the Blessed One: “Venerable sir, it is said, “Is of unpleasant nature.’ What is of unpleasant nature?”
4. “Rādha, matter is of unpleasant nature. Feelings, perceptions, intentions, and consciousness are of unpleasant nature.
5. “Rādha, the learned noble disciple, realizing this, turns from matter, feelings, perceptions, intentions, and consciousness. Turning, looses interest and is released. Released, he knows, ‘I am released, birth is destroyed, the holy life is lived to the end, duties are done and I have nothing more to wish’.”

(17) Anattā I –– Lacks Self I
1. I heard thus. At one time the Blessed One was living in the monastery offered by Anāthapiṇḍika in Jeta’s grove in Sāvatthi.
2. Then venerable Rādha approached the Blessed One, worshipped, and sat on a side.
3. Sitting, venerable Rādha said to the Blessed One: “Venerable sir, it is said, ‘Lacks self,’ What lacks self?”
4. “Rādha, matter lacks self. Feelings, perceptions, intentions, and consciousness lack self.
5. “Rādha, the learned noble disciple, realizing this, turns from matter. Turns from feelings, perceptions, intentions, and consciousness. Turning, looses interest and is released. Released, he knows, ‘I am released, birth is destroyed, the holy life is lived to the end, duties are done and I have nothing more to wish’.”

(18) Anattā II –– Lacks Self II

3. Sitting, venerable Rādha said to the Blessed One: “Venerable sir, it is said, ‘Is of the nature of lacking self.’ What is of the nature of lacking self?”
4. “Rādha, matter is of the nature of lacking self. Feelings, perceptions, intentions, and consciousness are of the nature of lacking self.
5. “Rādha, the learned noble disciple, realizing this, turns from matter, feelings, perceptions, intentions, and consciousness. Turning, looses interest and is released. Released, he knows, ‘I am released, birth is destroyed, the holy life is lived to the end, duties are done and I have nothing more to wish’.”

(19) Khaya –– Destruction
1. I heard thus. At one time the Blessed One was living in the monastery offered by Anāthapiṇḍika in Jeta’s grove in Sāvatthi.
2. Then venerable Rādha approached the Blessed One, worshipped, and sat on a side.
3. Sitting, venerable Rādha said to the Blessed One: “Venerable sir, it is said, ‘Is of the nature of getting destroyed.’ What is of the nature of getting destroyed?”
4. “Rādha, matter is of the nature of getting destroyed. Feelings, perceptions, intentions, and consciousness are of the nature of getting destroyed.
5. “Rādha, the learned noble disciple, realizing this, turns from matter, feelings, perceptions, intentions, and consciousness. Turning, looses interest and is released. Released, he knows, ‘I am released, birth is destroyed, the holy life is lived to the end, duties are done and I have nothing more to wish’.”

(20) Vaya –– Fading
1. I heard thus. At one time the Blessed One was living in the monastery offered by Anāthapiṇḍika in Jeta’s grove in Sāvatthi.
2. Then venerable Rādha approached the Blessed One, worshipped, and sat on a side.
3. Sitting, venerable Rādha said to the Blessed One: “Venerable sir, it is said, ‘Of the nature of fading.’ What is of the nature of fading?”
4. “Rādha, matter is of the nature of fading Feelings, perceptions, intentions, and consciousness are of the nature of fading.
5. “Rādha, the learned noble disciple, realizing this, turns from matter, feelings, perceptions, intentions, and consciousness. Turning, looses interest and is released. Released, he knows, ‘I am released, birth is destroyed, the holy life is lived to the end, duties are done and I have nothing more to wish’.”

(21) Samudaya –– Arising
1. I heard thus. At one time the Blessed One was living in the monastery offered by Anāthapiṇḍika in Jeta’s grove in Sāvatthi.
2. Then venerable Rādha approached the Blessed One, worshipped, and sat on a side.
3. Sitting, venerable Rādha said to the Blessed One: “Venerable sir, it is said, ‘of the nature of arising.’ What is of the nature of arising?”
4. “Rādha, matter is of the nature of arising Feelings, perceptions, intentions, and consciousness are of the nature of arising.
5. “Rādha, the learned noble disciple realizing this, turns from matter. Turn from feelings, perceptions, intentions, and consciousness. Turning, looses interest and is released. Released, he knows, ‘I am released, birth is destroyed, the holy life is lived to the end, duties are done and I have nothing more to wish’.”

(22) Nirodhadhamma –– Of the Nature of Ceasing
1. I heard thus. At one time the Blessed One was living in the monastery offered by Anāthapiṇḍika in Jeta’s grove in Sāvatthi.
2. Then venerable Rādha approached the Blessed One, worshipped, and sat on a side.
3. Sitting, venerable Rādha said to the Blessed One: “Venerable sir, it is said, ‘Of the nature of ceasing.’ What is of the nature of ceasing?”
4. “Rādha, matter is of the nature of ceasing Feelings, perceptions, intentions, and consciousness are of the nature of ceasing.
5. “Rādha, the learned noble disciple, realizing this, turns from matter, feelings, perceptions, intentions, and consciousness. Turning, looses interest and is released. Released, he knows, ‘I am released, birth is destroyed, the holy life is lived to the end, duties are done and I have nothing more to wish’.”
